Deer causes fatal motorcycle accident near Prospect

On Monday morning, Oregon State Police and Oregon Department of Transportation responded to a motorcycle crash on Highway 62 near Prospect.

When troopers arrived on scene, they found a silver Harley Davidson driven by Gary Yarmie, 37, of Oshawa, Ottawa, Canada was driving with 18 other riders when a deer ran into the roadway in the middle of the riders. The deer hit Yarmie which made him lose control of the motorcycle. Yarmie collided with a tree and was killed.

Yarmie was pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway 62 was reduced to a single lane of travel for 4.5 hours.
