Delta Fire: Saturday Update

The Delta Fire has grown to the size of 60,018 acres, but fire momentum has slowed, and containment has reached 41% as of Saturday morning.

According to the Siskyou County Sheriff's Department, the evacuation advisory for Dunsmuir was lifted at noon on Saturday.

On Saturday, September 15, 2018, at about 1 p.m., mandatory evacuations have been lifted and residents may return home in the following areas. Re-entry to the Dog Creek area includes the following access roads: Fenders Ferry Rd., Saylor Rd., Harr Ridge Rd., McCall Creek Rd., and Cavanaugh Canyon Rd.

Mandatory evacuations are still in effect for Gibson Rd. area to include Highland Lakes Rd., Rivera Dr., Campbell Creek Rd., Nighhawk Ln., Karwin Dr., and Bonville Springs Rd.

Mandatory evacuations are still in effect for the Sims Rd area to include Shotgun Creek Rd., Upper Shotgun #1 and #2 Rd., Mears Ridge Rd., Fat Bear Way, Sims Lookout Rd., Hazel Creek Rd., and Girard Ridge Rd.

All restrictions for all north and southbound traffic are lifted. Some of the road systems off of Interstate 5 will remain closed due to suppression efforts.
