Delta Fire: Thursday Update
SISKIYOU-SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. —
The Delta Fire has burned to the size of 58,427 acres, and is 17% contained.
The containment has increased since yesterday due to favorable weather conditions, according to the US Forest Service, Shasta-Trinity National Forest.
The I-5 is fully open in all lanes, and all truck restrictions have been lifted.
As of Wednesday, the Shasta County Sheriff's Office lifted the mandatory evacuations and residents were allowed to return home to these areas. The Trinity County Sheriff's Office has issued a mandatory evacuation notice for residents of East Fork Road to Ramshorn Road, east to the Shasta-Trinity County line. There will be a hard road closure at East Side Road and East Fork Road for nonresidents. There is also an evacuation advisory only from the East Fork/East Side Road junction west to Highway 3, northward to Ramshorn Road.
There is a community meeting tonight at Dunsmuir Elementary School that will cover the Delta and Hirz Fires.
