TALENT, Ore. - Dozens gathered at the Talent Community Center for the last public input meeting for the new Gateway development project in Talent.

The majority of the people came in support of creating a Talent Maker Space.

If this gets approved by the Talent Urban Renewal Agency either tonight or in the coming weeks, Talent will have a facility with tools and resources for community members to come in and create a product that might lead to local business.

"What we know is that billions of dollars are traded every year out of garage businesses and one of the ways that we feel like Talent could move forward is by bringing that economy out of the garage and into the market place."

It would be the first maker space model in the Rogue Valley.

The project has been incorporated in the drafting stages of the developer proposal and construction would begin as early as next year.
