Driver ejected from vehicle; dies following crash on I-5

Police are investigating a deadly rollover crash on Interstate 5 early Wednesday evening.

Just before 6 p.m., Rural Metro Fire was dispatched to the crash site along I-5 northbound at milepost 70. The driver of the blue four-door sedan was ejected from the vehicle and died as a result of the crash.

"Firefighters conducted a search of the area for additional occupants, but none were found," Rural Metro said in a social media posting.

According to first responders, the driver was 'unrestrained' or not wearing a seat belt.

No other information regarding the identity of the driver has been released.

Oregon State Police is handling the crash investigation.
