Early morning fire leaves two Medford apartment units uninhabitable

MEDFORD, Ore. - Medford Fire-Rescue responded to a report of a structure fire on Cottage Street early this morning.

Crews arrived to find two people stranded on their balconies with fire on both the second and third floors of the apartment complex.

Fire crews knocked down the fire quickly and rescued the apartment tenants and reportedly kept damage to a minimum, although two units have been labeled uninhabitable.

Deputy Fire Marshall Sartain has determined that the fire originated on the second floor in the hallway before it quickly spread to the third floor.
