UPDATE: Crews extinguish electrical fire at Biomass One
UPDATE: Ashley Lara with Fire District 3 tells us that crews have extinguished the fire.
Crews from Jackson County Fire District 3 and Medford Fire-Rescue responded to an electrical fire at Biomass One in White City.
The battalion chief escalated the fire to a second alarm fire which bought in additional resources.
All employees were able to evacuate the building safely.
There were 6 engines on scene at the peak of the fire; four from Fire District 3 and 2 from Medford Fire-Rescue.
The electrical fire happened on the second floor of the building.
According to Ashley Lara with Fire District 3, Biomass One had a suppression system in place that mitigated the fire until crews could arrive.
The fire happened in a concrete room so it did not spread to other parts of the building.
Operations in other parts of the building are still operating.
Firefighters are standing by with handheld fire extinguishers if anything were to flare up.
Power has been turned off and the company has specialists in the building that are investigating.
A fire investigator is also on scene working to determine the cause of the fire.
