Family asking for help to bring home body found in Siskiyou County
A North Carolina family wants to bring the remains of their son home from Siskiyou County but they need some help.
Siskiyou County Sheriff deputies found the body of Jeremy Price last week.
Jeremy and his girlfriend had spent the past few months in northern California. The two had been staying in some campgrounds at Mount Shasta.
One night, Price wandered off and never returned.
"They had helicopters out," said Misty Price, Jeremy's mother. "People on the ground. And I got a phone call saying that they found him in the river. He had fell in the river and drowned."
Misty said in order to bring her son's remains back home to Asheville, North Carolina it's going to cost them $2,400.
If they don't reach that goal by Tuesday, a storage fee of $95 will be added each day.
Now, she's asking for help to cover those unexpected costs.
"Please, I know there's people out there who knew him. Please, help us get him home. I want him home," said Misty Price. "He knew everybody here in Asheville, and surrounding areas. I mean, there was nobody he didn't know."
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family.
