Fire crews responding to a structure fire in Central Point

Structure Fire in Central Point (KTVL/Sarina Sandoval)

Fire crews are responded to a structure fire in the 6000 block of Tamarack Lane on Monday afternoon.

Fire District 3 and Medford Fire were both on the scene.

FD3 tells News 10's Sarina Sandoval they received a call of a fully involved barn fire with the fire spreading to a camper and vehicles parked nearby.

Two horses were able to escape, but a few chickens were not able to exit the barn in time.

Fire crews are currently mopping up.

The Battalion Chief, Will Clelland, says the owners received two tons of hay that had gotten wet. He says the best thing to do is, let it burn out.

"If we put it out it becomes heavy and difficult to move and after all this trouble they already have with having a barn fire, the last thing we want is to make them move it," said Battalion Chief Clelland.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
