Fire crews in Northern California were kept busy Friday afternoon with a wildfire in Yreka and a structure fire in Montague.

Cal Fire Siskiyou Unit had 95% containment on an 8 acre fire burning along Bowen Centers Road as of 6:15 p.m.

The Bowen Fire remains under investigation by Cal Fire.

Firefighters also responded to the 4000 block of High Street for a structure fire on Friday evening. The fire spread from the home to nearby vegetation and sent up thick, dark smoke that could be seen across the area due to high winds. Named the 'High Fire' but Cal Fire Siskiyou Unit, it burned 9 acres and was fully contained by 10:00 p.m.

No injuries were reported and no evacuations were prompted.
