Grants Pass Schools receive state report card

School districts throughout the state were handed their report cards for the year.

The Oregon Department of Education produces yearly public report cards for every school district in the state which aim to give an overall look at school performances.

Grants Pass School District 7 says the report detailed that in some areas, like language arts, they do well. In others, like math however, they can show some improvement.

Overall, the school district says they try to offer diverse programs to cater to the needs of students.

"We have some real challenges in our community that we're constantly trying to come up with solutions to help support students, but overall, it's a great place to be," says Trisha Evens, Director of Secondary Education for GPSD.

Oregon report cards are currently going through a re-design phase for next year.
