Deputies say Wilsonville mother, daughter found in Las Vegas
UPDATE, 12:12 p.m.: Just before 8 a.m. this morning, authorities in Las Vegas, Nevada located Kylee Dixon and took her into protective custody in accordance with a judge's order, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said.
WILSONVILLE, Ore. – Deputies are asking for help in the search for a Wilsonville mother and her teenage daughter.
Investigators say Christina Dixon took off with her 13-year-old daughter, Kylee Dixon, who is being treated for cancer.
Deputies say they may be in or around Newport and now may be driving an orange 2016 Jeep Wrangler with Oregon plates reading 116-JNG. Previously, they said Christina Dixon drove a white 2012 Smart Car with blue trim and Oregon plates 308-FRH.
The teen was ordered into state custody earlier this month when she missed a scheduled surgery. According to officials, there was a dispute over treatment because Christina would rather use a naturopathic method.
"When they went to look for Kylee on June 7th at her residence, it was apparent that they were not there any longer. And they went there with a court order," said Clackamas County sheriff's Sgt. Marcus Mendoza.
A neighbor at Christina Dixon's Wilsonville duplex sympathized with Dixon.
"I find that really shocking. Like, I mean, I believe that every parent should have a right to treat their child (the way) they see fit," said Amanda Kennedy.
If you see either of the Dixon’s or their car, call 911 immediately.
