A house fire on Old Stage Road has called in many resources from around the Rogue Valley.

According to scanner traffic, this is now a second alarm fire. Jackson County Fire District 3, Jacksonville Fire, Pacific Power, and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office have all responded to the scene at 972 Old Stage Road, just north of Jacksonville.

According to News 10 reporter Genevieve Grippo, who is on the scene, the fire appears to have started from the garage.

“The crews quickly tried to extinguish the fire, which was mostly contained to the garage and in the attic,” Ashley Blakely with Fire District 3 said.

“They were able to stop the fire from spreading into the residence which we are thankful for,” Blakey said.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

“Everyone was able to evacuate safely, there were residents home at the start of the fire,” Blakey said.

According to Blakey someone nearby the home dialed 9-1-1 when they saw a cloud of smoke emanating from the residence.

“When our battalion chief was headed this way, he could see a column in the sky, depending on what’s being burned in burn piles or structure fires if all else fails just be on the side of caution and call 9-1-1, it doesn’t matter if we’re in winter or cooler months always call it in if you are concerned,” Blakey said.

“Now it’s time for the fire investigator to come in and do his work,” Blakey said.

The Fire Investigator was on scene by 10:30 a.m.
