Josephine County reporting massive power outage affecting thousands

[UPDATE] Power has been restored in Josephine and Del Norte counties after onsite construction work damaged a transmission substation in Grants Pass.

The outage started at about 9:07 a.m and was restored at 9:39 a.m. Pacific Power says crews were able to quickly reroute power to restore service. Crews continue to work on repairing the lines.


According to Pacific Power, 64,000 people are without power in Josephine County.

The cause of the massive outage is still under investigation.

The power outage stretches to Crescent City, Calif. according to Pacific Power.

Some residents believe the entire county is out of power, but that has not been confirmed.
