Josephine County Sheriff's Office hires 22 new employees
It has been about nine months since Josephine County voters moved to approve a Corrections Levy.
Since then, the Josephine County Sheriff's office says 22 new people have been hired.
Sheriff Dave Daniel, says they are on their fifth round of hiring, but the process can be challenging.
"Certainly, in law enforcement, they have to be trustworthy and have an incredible amount of character. And that's really what we're looking for is character in our employees and we're finding it here in Josephine County," said Sheriff Daniel.
Eight of those 22 new hires are Correctional Deputies, five Patrol Deputies, and three resident deputies.
Nine more correctional deputy positions are still available.
