Today was the 9th annual Public Works Day, and the kids at Oak Grove Elementary School got to see everything that goes into keeping our city clean and safe.

The work stations that were on display ranged from the Medford Water Commission to engineering, signing and striping, storm drainage, and more.

It was a learning experience for all.

"They're very inquisitive. They want to know how things work and what is what. And they just love crawling on the equipment of course. But you know I think teachers learn as much as the teachers do," said Brice Perkins, the Deputy Public Works Director.

There was so much interest today Perkins joked he may be looking for some young recruits.
