Klamath County Sheriff warns of old scam with a new twist
KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. —
Klamath County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about an old scam circulating Klamath County.
The sheriff says they are receiving reports from residents of phone calls from callers claiming they are deputies and that they have missed "jury duty." The callers are using the names of both current and former Klamath County Sheriff deputies.
Scammers in these type of scam call often provide personal information to prove they are legitimate and are often not traceable.
KCSO urge the public not to provide any personal information to someone they do not know without verifying them.
