Klamath Falls Police respond to early morning homicide

Just after midnight Wednesday morning, Klamath Falls Police received a call of a woman fatally stabbed near Oak and Commercial Streets.

KFPD activated the Major Crime Team, including two detectives from Klamath County Sheriff's Office and members from KFPD, Oregon State Police, Klamath County Community Corrections and the District Attorney's Office.

The victim in the stabbing was identified as 22-year-old Melina Corrine Ghost.

Family members say Ghost was a daughter, sister, and a mother. She leaves behind two children.

Her mother says Ghost was strong, happy and a carrying person.

A person of interest has been interviewed and more information will be released as it becomes available.
