'Large Dog' Attacks Woman Shot & Killed by Police
CENTRAL POINT, Ore. —
A large dog was shot and killed by police after attacking a woman inside of her Central Point residence on Tuesday afternoon.
Central Point Police responded to a 911 call just before 4:30 p.m. from an 11-year-old who was unable to relay details of what was happening inside of the residence on the 900 block of Brandi Way.
Police say, the male pitbull had bitten the 52-year-old female on her arm and would not let go.
In an attempt to stop the attack, an officer fired multiple gunshots striking and ultimately killing the dog.
The female victim was transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center with severe injuries.
The age and precise size/weight of the dog is unknown at this time. Police are investigating what may have led to the attack.
