Local climate action group devastated by proposed EPA Clean Power Plan repeal
MEDFORD, Ore. - The Environmental Protection Agency plans to repeal the Clean Power Plan set forth by President Obama to curb greenhouse gas emissions produced by power plants.
The repeal is based on President Trump's executive orders calling for a review of the legality of the Clean Power Plan.
Something Southern Oregon Climate Action Now believes is moving backwards.
"What this administration is doing is placing in jeopardy their own children, our children, future generations and life on this planet. It is I have to say, insane," said Dr. Alan Journet, from the Southern Oregon Climate Action Now.
It's estimated the Clean Power Plan could prevent thousands of premature deaths and more than a hundred thousand asthma attacks in children.
