A man had to be extricated from his van after it rolled over on Interstate-5 Wednesday afternoon.

For reasons that are still under investigation by Oregon State Police, the driver lost control of his van as he was driving northbound on the interstate near the Hugo Exit and rolled over.

Rural Metro Fire and AMR-Josephine County personnel had to remove the roof of the van before they were able to pull the driver out. After the rescue, he was taken to a landing zone in Sunny Valley where a Mercy Flights helicopter flew him to Rogue Regional Medical Center for treatment. The extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.
