Man found dead at a logging site in Seiad Valley

SISKIYOU COUNTY, Cal. - After being found unresponsive, a man was pronounced dead in a remote area of Grider Creek last week.

The man, identified as Edward Heinecke, 69, died at the logging site between Seiad Valley and Happy Camp. He was found around 2:00 p.m. on the afternoon of September 23.

Heinecke was transported from the mountain log site to the logging landing via California Highway Patrol helicopter.
