Medford looks to transform foreclosed homes into affordable housing
MEDFORD, Ore. —
Oregon Housing and Community Services has given the City of Medford $720,00 to work on affordable housing.
At last month's city council meeting the city decided it would partner with Habitat for Humanity to refurbish two foreclosed homes.
Once the rehab is done, the pricing on these properties will be regulated to ensure they remain affordable.
"This requirement that it remains in its affordable state for 15 years helps continue keeping those properties within our affordable housing inventory," said Kristina Johnson, with the City of Medford.
This Thursday, May 17th, the city will consider adding a third home to this project.
