Miracle Story: Baby Sequoia
MEDFORD, Ore. -- Bringing home a new baby is a special time in a parent's life, but for mom Michelle Amador it was full of scary moments. At 15 days old, she noticed her new baby girl, Sequoia was having trouble breathing.
Lisa took her straight to emergency room at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. The x-rays confirmed it. Baby Sequoia had pneumonia. Her lungs collapsed three times while she was in the hospital.
"I was honestly really concerned she was not going to be okay at all," Lisa said about the ordeal, "I didn't know what to do and there aren't a lot of answers in the beginning. They know it's pneumonia, they know her lung collapsed, but they don't know what it's going to take or how long its going to take."
Lisa says it was heartbreaking. She couldn't nurse her brand new baby or comfort her, but says the staff at Asante stepped in. She says they were sweet with Sequoia when she couldn't be.
