Central Point, Ore. — A mobile home catches on fire in the 300 block of Gibbon Road in Central Point on Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters were first dispatched to a vehicle fire at around 3:30 p.m. The firefighters arrived to find the fire had spread to a mobile home next to the vehicle.
A cloud of smoke from the mobile home fire could be seen from across the Rogue Valley.
The fire spread to the dry grass areas around the property but no surrounding residents were threatened.
"There's no threat to structures, the wildfire did spread around the grasses, it's a good reminder that we're still threatened by wildfire season and the dry grasses, but none of the residents around were really threatend," said Scott Downing, Acting battalion chief.
Crews knocked the fire out within 2 hours.
