Snowboarder missing on Mt. Ashland found safe
ASHLAND, Ore. —
[UPDATE: Mar. 18, 9:20 AM]
Mt. Ashland Ski Area employees confirmed Sunday that the missing snowboarder was safely found.
Employees say the wife of 40-year-old Eric Hostetler of Bend reported him lost after missing a meeting with her.
The snowboarder had a safety plan in place, which employees say had a lot to do with his discovery.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says a snowboarder went missing on Mount Ashland Saturday afternoon.
The snowboarder went missing around 6 p.m.
Ski patrol is searching for the snowboarder by retracing the snowboarder's route.
The Sheriff's Office says the missing person is an experienced snowboarder and is dressed for the cold conditions.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
