EAGLE POINT, Ore. -- Multiple fires broke out in an Eagle Point residence Wednesday. Fire District Three crews first arrived to the fire on Craiglea road around 11:30 a.m. Medford Fire and Oregon Forestry responded with six engines in total to battle the flames. Two people and two dogs were inside the house at the time and everyone evacuated safely with no injuries.

Ashley Lara from District 3 says that crews ran into some issues while battling the flames.

"There were some propane tanks that [crews] had to take into precaution as well," Lara says. "A couple of them exploded. Again, there were no injuries sustained but those are typical things that we will see at a structure fire."

After investigations, District 3 learned that the fire started with a hit saw blade in the master bedroom. During the investigation, crews discovered a second fire breaking out in the attic and continued battling the fire throughout the evening.

That was not the only fire in Eagle Point today. Down the street from the location on Craiglea, fire crews responded to a boat fire on Westminster. District Three says unlike the Craigle fire, there were only minor damages.

Fire District 3 warns that as temperatures increase, fires are more likely to spread, especially in rural areas.
