The Jackson County Sheriff's Office arrested five people over the weekend for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Sheriff's say there was actually no arrests on Super Bowl Sunday. Deputies also did not receive any reports of crashes.

Sgt. Julie Denney says three people were arrested Friday night and people two were arrested Saturday night for DUII's.

Deputies made several traffic stops during and after the big game on Sunday, but found no signs of impairment.

"It's pretty typical for a weekend, but we also had a lot of other things going on this weekend, so to have the time to make those traffic stops and find the impaired drivers is a pretty big deal," said Sgt. Denney.

The Sheriff's Office receives grant funding for extra patrols to focus specifically on impaired driving.

Saturation patrols are scheduled for events typically associated with Super Bowl Sunday.

The next planned event will be on St. Patrick's day in March.
