Oregon State Police investigating a fatal shooting

Josephine County — UPDATE 10/26/18 at 6:03 P.M. -

The Oregon State Police have identified the deceased male as Robert Barry, 58. He was a Washington State resident.

Authorities have also released the identity of the Josephine County man who shot Barry - Alan Frost, 77.

This investigation is ongoing. This report will be updated as more information becomes available.

UPDATE 10/25/18 at 11:11 A.M. - The residents, an elderly couple, have cooperated with the investigation and told investigators that the husband shot the male in self defense, according to OSP.

Upon arrival at the scene around 6:20 Wednesday night officers located a deceased male on the deck of the residence.

Oregon State Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Josephine County Wednesday night.

According to Sgt. Jeff Proulx a person trespassed on private property along Foothill Blvd.

The resident fatally shot the trespasser.

The scene is cleaned up.
