Oregon State Police Troopers have confirmed that the body recovered overnight is male. They say that it "appears the body has been at the location for some time."

However, no additional information about the identity of the deceased or circumstances of his death are available at this time.

The Oregon State Police confirm they're conducting a death investigation in Jackson County. A body was discovered at a rest stop on I-5 between Phoenix and Talent on Wednesday.

Investigators have been on-scene since the early morning hours Wednesday looking for clues at the rest area.

One of the tests they are expected to perform is an X-ray on the body to determine if there was any foul play. At this time, it's unclear how the person died.

Investigators are still trying to identify the person.

The agency has committed to providing further details to the media later in the form of a press release.
