JACKSONVILLE, Ore. - It's the second year the Oregon Wine Experience competition was expanded outside of Southern Oregon to include the entire state.

This brought in more than 100 wineries and 300 wine entries into the competition.

The goal was to raise $800,000 for charity and although total numbers have not been tallied organizers believe they exceeded that.

"It's been a great year, the community has been very generous our wineries and our sponsors have been very generous. It's just been great to see the team working coming together," said Sue Mendenhell, the event organizer.

Three wines were awarded best in show, 18 double gold, 24 gold, and close to 100 were awarded with silver metals.
