Oregon's new LGBTQ Veterans representative meets with veterans, allies at SOU

Ashland, Ore. - Oregon has the first LGBTQ Veterans Affairs position in the country.

Nathaniel Boehme is a member of the Air Force and Portland Air National Guard as well as a gay man. He holds the position and hopes to work with LGBTQ veterans on explaining the benefits available to them.

Allies of LGBTQ veterans see this position as a step forward for veterans who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer.
