Park designers, City of Medford, and elementary school students work on new park
MEDFORD, Ore. —
Park designers and the City of Medford are pulling together notes, sketches and finalizing plans for the new Bear Creek Park design based on recommendations from some experts in the field of play time.
Leave it up to our elementary school students at Hoover and Roosevelt to get the job done right.
This morning the students were buzzing with ideas, which included everything from zip lines to slides that connect play areas, rock walls, spinning monkey bars, and much more.
"And trampolines surprisingly was a crowd favorite so I think any one of those would be great. I know that they would be excited but it's great to see it on their faces," said Tim Stevens, The Medford Parks and Rec assistant director.
Rogue Credit Union is helping pay for this design revel event Thursday, October 26 from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. at the Carnegie Library and part of the build with a $5,000 donation.
At the event 14 $50 gift cards to Toys"R"Us will be awarded to design winners from each grade at both Hoover and Roosevelt Elementary.
