At around 6:30 on Friday. August 9, 2019, an Oregon Department of Forestry-contracted air attack plane was forced to make an emergency landing in eastern Jackson county.

The pilot and one passenger on board did not report any injuries and declined medical attention at the scene.

"We're just so thankful that there were no injuries reported, that the passenger and the pilot were completely okay," Natalie Weber, Public Information Officer for the Oregon Department of Forestry, said.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration will be investigating.

"Safety is absolutely our number one priority," Weber said.
