Police located fugitive who was on the run since 2008

Grants Pass Department of Public Safety arrested Braide Shipman, a known fugitive, on charges dated back to 2008.

According to GPDPS, officers were tipped off to Shipman's location near an apartment complex on Fruitdale Drive Thursday afternoon.

As officers tried to arrest Shipman, he attempted to start and leave on a motorcycle. Despite officers efforts to subdue Shipman with a taser, he eventually fled on the motorcycle.

Shipman later ditched the motorcycle inside an apartment and continued to flee on foot.

Several hours later officers responded to a report of Shipman walking on Cloverlawn Drive. Shipman attempted to get away from police by trying to float away in an irrigation canal, he then jumped out and ran away.

Police eventually arrested him after he entered an apartment garage.

Grants Pass Department of Public Safety are looking for Braide Shipman in the Cloverlawn area.

Officers say, Shipman no longer has long hair and was last seen wearing dark colored shorts without a shirt or shoes.

GPDPS believes that he may be on a yellow sport motorcycle.

Anyone with information about Shipman is asked to call 911.
