Police: Eugene man arrested with 2 juveniles after 'torturing man for over 2 hours'
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- A Eugene man was arrested along with two juveniles after police investigated a reported assault and robbery.
Around 3 a.m. Sunday, Springfield Police were called to Winco at 1920 Olympic St. where they spoke with the victim, who reported being kidnapped, assaulted and robbed of his personal property including his vehicle.
The victim reported he was held inside of a motor home parked at the location by three subjects who assaulted him with numerous weapons including a golf club, an airsoft rifle and the butt stock of a weapon.
At one point, the subjects also doused the victim with gasoline and threatened to light him on fire, police said.
During his ordeal, the suspects took property from his person, his vehicle and ultimately the vehicle itself.
"He was held inside the motor home and tortured for more than two hours," police said. "He was finally released threatened with further harm if he were to contact police."
Springfield Police units were able to locate the stolen vehicle and the motor home at a residence in west Eugene later in the day and, with the assistance of the Eugene Police Department, they took the three suspects into custody -- one man and two 16-year-old juvenile males.
The subsequent investigation by Springfield Police detectives revealed property from the robbery as well as other evidence of the crime, the report said.
29-year-old Shane Anthony Lewis of Eugene was lodged at Lane County Jail on charges of Assault II, Kidnapping I, Robbery II and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.
The juveniles were lodged on the same charges at the John Serbu Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
