Police Investigate Apparent Shooting on Hwy 66

UPDATE (8:08 a.m., 11/15/2017) The vehicle described as an older, brown, single cab pick-up truck has been located by investigators. It is no longer of further interest according to the Klamath County Sheriff's Office.

This case is under active investigation for the crimes of Attempted Murder, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, Assault I, Menacing, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Klamath County Sheriff's are asking for witnesses to come forward regarding an apparent shooting that occured on Highway 66 between the Stewart Lennox area and Keno.

At approximately 4:20 p.m. on Monday, Sheriff's received a call of a gunshot victim being admitted to Sky Lakes Medical Center.

Upon arrival, law enforcement determined the 28-year-old male had received number gunshots to his head and face area.

Authorities say several shots were fired into the victims vehicle and a suspect vehicle had left the scene.

Police say the suspects vehicle is an 'older brown single cab pick-up truck.'

According to a spokesperson with Sky Lakes Medical Center, per protocol, a 'lockdown' or 'controlled access' situation took place for a brief period of time, limiting the amount of people allowed to enter the building.

Additional injuries and the status of the victim is currently unknown. No arrests have been made.
