GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Grants Pass Police are undergoing an investigation and looking for any suspects involved in shooting a bullet through the window of a church during a worship service.
Police was called to Parkway Church in Grants Pass around 10 a.m Sunday.
"Upon arrival, officers located damage to the second-floor window of the church and what we also to be damage to a tree from the gunshot as well," Misty English, Patrol Lieutenant with Grants Pass Department of Safety, said.
Church visitors report having heard two to four gunshots during the worship service.
Investigation revealed that the shooter shot a bullet through a second-story window of the church.
No injuries were reported.
There was a brief lockdown during the service, but everyone in the building was released after.
Police are still investigating a possible motive and suspect, as no churchgoers were able to get an eye on the suspected shooter.
"The only witnesses we have are people who heard and saw the damage. There was security on scene of the church, they do have security inside and outside during services but right now we don't have much as far as eyewitnesses," Lt. English said.
Grants Pass Police would like anyone who may have saw or heard anything to come forward with information.
"If anyone was in the area at the time has any information, give us a call. I've seen a few postings on Facebook of people saying they heard shots being fired. Even if you only heard something, we would like to know about that," Lt. English said.
