Police: Man shot dead on I-5 in Douglas County, suspect still at large
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. — The Oregon State Police are searching for a man who allegedly shot and killed another man on Interstate 5 near milepost 124 in Douglas County.
Just after noon on Sunday, OSP responded to the report of a shooting on I-5. Witnesses say that a subject in a late model silver sedan with no license plates shot a male subject in another vehicle.
The victim was transported to the Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect vehicle continued on I-5 Southbound. Witnesses say that the man driving the vehicle was in his late 30's and wearing a red baseball cap.
OSP is seeking any assistance from the public in locating this suspect. Do not attempt to contact the man, as he is considered to be armed and dangerous.
They are also requesting that anyone who may have seen an altercation between the victim's vehicle (a beige 1992 Honda Accord), the suspect vehicle (a late model silver four-door sedan, possibly a Ford) with no license plates, and possibly a third vehicle with no description, to contact them.
The three vehicles were observed traveling westbound on Harvard Ave. just east of I-5 and then turning onto the southbound on-ramp to I-5 from Harvard Ave.
