Medford Police has arrested a student for a threat written on a bathroom stall at North Medford High School on Wednesday.

Police say the note indicated that there would be violence at the school on February 21st.

An investigation was immediately launched and with the help of surveillance, video detectives were able to narrow down the group of student who may have been involved. All the students were interviewed and resulted in a male sophomore student's arrest.

The student has been lodged into the Juvenile Detention Facility on Disorderly Contact 1.

MPD does not believe it was a credible threat.

"The Medford Police Department and the Medford School District work very closely during these investigations and the safety of our students is a top priority," said Medford Police in a statement. "We would like to commend the students for their cooperation and courage to report these incidents to school and police department officials."
