At the beginning of the year, many are putting their health at the top of their priorities. On Saturday afternoon, Ashland residents gathered with seven wellness businesses at the Power UP wellness fair.

From acupuncture to essential oils, guests had fifteen-minute sessions with each business to learn about different methods of whole-body healing.

Doctor Luke Schmelzle said the event is focused on building relationships in the community.

"One of the things I really love about Ashland is that there's really a desire an emphasis on supporting local people," Schmelzle said. "We want to know the people we do business with and we want to support them and keep the money here."

Schmelzle said the event will hopefully inspire visitors to focus on their health, not only as a new years resolution but all year long.

"Were in 2019," Schmelzle said. "It’s the beginning of the year and we’re all coming off of the holidays. There’s a lot of positive energy towards the new year and what better way than to celebrate that and power up than doing this event."

Schmelzle said they pulled together a team of complementary professionals that offer a wide array of services, so people can get a boost and strong benefit for the new year.

The event was put together by the Ashland chapter of Business Network International.
