Yreka, Calif. - The Shasta Terrace apartments were in bad shape a year ago. The apartment manager described them as "drug infested" before he, his wife and new ownership stepped in.

The complex unveiled its new courtyard this afternoon with a grill-out and potluck for residents.

Residents and the apartment manager could not be happier with the progress and improvements made there.

"Between the effort of my wife, our tenants, all the people in our community who finally wanted to believe in us that we could do this, it's happening," David Geer, the apartment manager, said.

Geer says there is still plenty of work to do on the apartments. He says he's excited for the project to continue and improve.
