The Medford Police announced that they are expanding the photo red light program by adding two new lights to the program.

The new cameras are located on the corner of Riverside and 8th Streets and Central and 4th Street.

The new cameras will go live on Thursday, September 7th and will only issue warnings for the first 30 days while citations will begin to be issued on October 7th.

MPD says, they will also begin enforcing the speed limits at all photo red light intersections, no date has been determined at this time.

A list of the camera's locations are:

  • Barnett and Stewart
  • Biddle and McAndrews
  • Central and 4th Street
  • Riverside and 8th Street

Medford Police Department Sergent Don Lane says, the department has seen a significant reduction in the amount of crashes and drivers running red lights at two intersections in the area.

“Both the photo red light and radar enforcement programs have shown to improve traffic safety in Medford,” said Sergeant Lane.
