Rogue River, Ore. - Rogue River Firefighters held their annual Fill The Boot fundraiser to fight Muscular Dystrophy on Saturday.

Many fire departments across the country hold the event. Firefighters who participate hope to fill their own boots with donations from the public.

Rogue River firefighters stood near street intersections in Rogue River so people driving by could donate from their cars.

"We're just outside collecting money for Muscular Dystrophy and we're just trying to raise money for the kids," Jarret Estremado said. "Last year we raised about 4000 dollars."

The fire department raised over $5100 in cash alone. They plan to take a couple of bags filled with change to a local bank on Monday or Tuesday to have it counted.
