A flatbed truck hauling a pickup crashed Monday morning on Highway 199, closing the highway for an extended period.

The flatbed was the only vehicle involved in the crash. It left the roadway and rolled onto its side, blocking the highway in both directions near Wild Park Lane just before 8 a.m., according to the Illinois Valley Fire District.

The driver was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

The Oregon Department of Transportation set up a detour around the crash scene using Lakeshore and Reeves Creek. The highway was closed for approximately one and a half hours while a tow truck was brought in to flip the flatbed upright and clear the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Oregon State Police.
