Semi-truck crash kills pedestrian on Interstate 5
CENTRAL POINT, Ore. —

The Oregon State Police have identified the pedestrian struck on Interstate-5 as Central Point man Ryan Barnes, 38.
At this time, no further details are available on the circumstance of Barnes' death.
Tuesday night, Oregon State Police responded to a "commercial motor vehicle" that had hit a pedestrian on Interstate 5 at mile post 34, one mile north of the Central Point freeway exit towards The Expo.
OSP's investigation found a 2014 Freightliner was driving south on Interstate 5 when it hit the pedestrian. The driver is fully cooperating with the investigation.
The collision killed the pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene.
OSP was assisted by Jackson County Fire District 3 and Oregon Department of Transportation.
