Semi truck overturns with over 40,000 pounds of glass bottles on I-5
SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. —
A semi truck carrying approximately 40,000 pounds of glass overturned on I-5 Tuesday night north of Yreka.
California Highway Patrol tells News 10's Mike Marut, the 53-year-old driver from Medford had set the brakes to get into the sleeper area and accidentally unlocked the brakes. The truck slid down the embankment and overturned.
The driver was not injured.
On Wednesday morning crews worked to clean up the spill.
Drivers heading to California to Oregon are asked to be cautious as crews will be present.
