MEDFORD, Ore. - A motorcycle crash on North Phoenix Road leaves one man dead after fighting for his life at Rogue Regional Medical Center.

Medford police say a 46-year-old man was driving his motorcycle northbound on North Phoenix and hit a curb, which threw him off and onto a tree.

He was quickly transported to the hospital but his injuries were too severe without having the protection from a car.

"If you hit a tree it's your body hitting a tree it's not a vehicle it's's obviously much more dangerous on a motorcycle than it is driving on a car on the roadways up here," said Corporal Josh Schilder from Medford Police.

Police have not yet released the driver's identity.
