Ashland, Ore. --Southern Oregon University is hosting a business series to address skill gaps in the Rogue Valley. SOU surveyed local businesses to find what they look for in employees. The university will host the workshops monthly through May. The school says the focus will be on soft skills like team building.

"There will be presentations offered on how to give presentations effectively, team building, how to use authority and power within the workplace to help foster those things and bring them about in your workplace. There's also presentations on effective communications," said Ryan Brown with Southern Oregon University.

The first class, on presentation skills, will be offered on January 27th. Business owners can sign up for one course or the entire series. To sign up for a class visit
