ASHLAND, Ore. - Southern Oregon University has begun testing buildings on its Ashland campus for lead in water.

Last week, several lead pigtails were found in Medford, and a number of school districts have been testing their schools for lead in the water, as well.

The majority of tests found no elevated lead levels in the water, according to a press release from SOU, but two drinking fountains did test beyond the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) standard.

Another sink in in the preschool still was within standards, but did contain elevated lead levels.

Additional testing with be conducted and these fixtures will be closed until they are replaced.
